looks like something from the Alien or Blade Runner universe. That is by no means a bad thing.

I watched the first Alien movie before I started modeling this so that could have something to do with it :)

:) Mielenkiintosta tehdä tälläsiä juttuja kun vasta -92 tuli tähän maailmaan. Tavallaan voi elää sitä 80-lukua samalla.

it reminds me of the turret terminals from Fallout 3. I enjoy the look. how much time did it take to produce?

I´m a huge Fallout 3 fan also. Well it took about 4 hours to get this point. I still want to tweak textures and really define materials so it could easily take another 4 hours :)

Immediately felt the FO3 feel too and I do not mean it bad way at all. Those terminals had true atmospheric feel on those and really nice designs and your terminals have the same kind of 'old' feel on them.  I like what I see here and do not forget to share the tweaked versions too. And I  quite like how the text has come out in it as well.

If it is bolted down (cant be turned) why is it upside down :(

You don't have to go so low poly, for example, the upper left of the computer case has this super hard pointy edge. If you put 2 more loops, you could have smoothed it much nicer instead of pointy. Being its indoors, and in space (not drawing trees and cars outside) you can do whatever you want. You can easily smooth all those edges and lose no performance.

The materials are very well done. Try baking or rendering with ambient occlusion on (IE between the bottom of screen and keyboard it would contrast the depth with it because right now there is no occlusion there.

I´m going to add a couple more loops there. I´m not sure how complex I want to do this yet :)

I´m trying to avoid baking as much as possible due physical based rendering. I have SSAO on but I could tweak that a little bit stronger.

Why are there bolts to nothing there on the sides? If it's a Zero-G floating terminal, it shouldn't probably have those.

I actually answered my question with the next picture I looked at. Zero Gravity is the title.... Not the terminal. Duh. My bad. Looks awesome. Has sort of a Coldwar era tech feel to it.

Needs handles to stop you pushing yourself away with each keystroke.
